If you bought a used Nexus 7 and someone else’s data and settings are still on it, or if you’re having problems with your current Nexus 7 and want a ‘do over’, the Reset command will wipe your Nexus 7 clean and allow you to start fresh.
- Swipe down from the top of your screen and tap the Settings icon.
- Tap Backup & reset
- Tap Factory data reset
- Tap Reset tablet
- If your tablet is password protected, enter your Pattern, PIN, or Password
- Tap Erase everything to confirm
All of the data will be wiped from your tablet. Any data that is stored in your Google Account can be restored later, but apps and their associated data will be uninstalled.
